On 1 March 2024, one-man ambient/psychedelic band Life Vest Under Your Seat self-released The Black Angel’s Death Songs EP. I designed the album cover.
Basically, the artist gave me his complete vision of the artwork, which I tried to capture as close to the original idea as possible.
‘I see some references to Orthodox icons. The colours I see are yellow, red and black. The plot: silhouette, wearing a black cloak, standing at full height in the desert — it's actually Death, but without a scythe. He is standing sideways, holding a music box in his hands, from which notes fly in the form of shards’, he said.
References were generated in DALL-E 3 via Bing and then completely reworked.
